Lewis Hamilton's F1 History: 2014-2023

Lewis Hamilton, born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, England, is a British racing driver who competes in Formula One for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. Hamilton is widely considered one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula One, having won numerous championships and set a number of records.

2014

In 2014, Hamilton won his second World Championship, driving for Mercedes. He won a total of 11 races that season and finished 67 points ahead of his teammate, Nico Rosberg.

2015

Hamilton won his third World Championship in 2015, again driving for Mercedes. He won a total of 10 races that season and finished 59 points ahead of Rosberg.

2016

The 2016 season was a closely contested one between Hamilton and Rosberg, with the two drivers battling for the championship until the final race of the season. In the end, it was Rosberg who emerged victorious, with Hamilton finishing in second place overall.

2017

Hamilton bounced back in 2017, winning his fourth World Championship. He won a total of nine races that season and finished 46 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel, who was driving for Ferrari.

2018

In 2018, Hamilton won his fifth World Championship, becoming only the third driver in history to win five or more championships. He won a total of 11 races that season and finished 88 points ahead of Vettel.

2019

The 2019 season was another successful one for Hamilton, as he won his sixth World Championship. He won a total of 11 races that season and finished 87 points ahead of Valtteri Bottas, his teammate at Mercedes.

2020

Hamilton continued his dominance in 2020, winning his seventh World Championship. He won a total of 11 races that season, tying Michael Schumacher's record for the most championships in Formula One history.

2021

In 2021, Hamilton once again battled for the championship, but ultimately came up short, finishing in second place overall behind Max Verstappen. Hamilton won five races that season and finished just six points behind Verstappen.

2022

The 2022 season is currently underway, and Hamilton is once again competing for the championship. He has won two races so far this season and is currently in second place overall, behind only Charles Leclerc.

Team Changes and Milestones

Hamilton has been a part of the Mercedes team since 2013 and has had tremendous success with the team. Before joining Mercedes, Hamilton raced for McLaren from 2007-2012. Hamilton has set a number of records during his time in Formula One. He is tied with Michael Schumacher for the most championships in history, with seven. He also holds the record for the most pole positions in history, with 103.
