Aston Martin F1 Car Models

Since 2019, Aston Martin has returned to the world of Formula One, carrying forward its rich racing heritage. Initially re-entering the sport as a title sponsor for the Racing Point F1 Team and later transitioning to a full-fledged works team, Aston Martin has quickly made a name for itself. This article highlights the major milestones, victories, and drivers for the Aston Martin F1 Team since 2019, showcasing their impressive Aston Martin F1 Models and performances.

2019: Title Sponsorship and Racing Point's Emergence

In 2019, Aston Martin began its journey back into Formula One by becoming the title sponsor for the Racing Point F1 Team. Racing Point, formerly known as Force India, had been purchased by a consortium led by Canadian businessman Lawrence Stroll in 2018. The team, now branded as "SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team," fielded the RP19 car, driven by Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll. Despite some challenges, the team managed to finish seventh in the Constructors' Championship with 73 points.

2020: A Competitive Racing Point and Controversy

For the 2020 season, Racing Point continued to field Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll as their drivers, introducing the RP20 as their new car. The RP20, often referred to as the "Pink Mercedes" due to its similarities with the 2019 Mercedes F1 car, was a significant step forward in performance. The team secured its first-ever victory with Pérez at the Sakhir Grand Prix, while Stroll achieved a pole position in Turkey and two podium finishes. Racing Point concluded the season in fourth place in the Constructors' Championship with 195 points.

However, the 2020 season was not without controversy for Racing Point. The team faced accusations of copying Mercedes' 2019 car design, which led to an investigation by the FIA. Racing Point was subsequently fined and docked 15 Constructors' Championship points for using brake ducts that were deemed too similar to those on the Mercedes W10.

2021: The Aston Martin Works Team Returns

In 2021, the Racing Point F1 Team was rebranded as the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team, marking the return of Aston Martin as a works team in Formula One after more than 60 years. The team's new car, the AMR21, was driven by Lance Stroll and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who joined the team after leaving Ferrari.

Despite facing some challenges throughout the season, both drivers managed to secure points for the team, with Vettel achieving a second-place finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Aston Martin concluded their first season as a works team in seventh place in the Constructors' Championship with 77 points.

2022: Building on Progress

For the 2022 season, Aston Martin continued with their driver lineup of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll, aiming to build on the progress made in 2021. The team introduced the AMR22, their latest Aston Martin F1 Model, which showcased improvements in aerodynamics and overall performance. The team remained competitive throughout the season, achieving a number of points finishes and working their way up the Constructors' Championship standings.
