Max Verstappen's F1 History: 2014-2023
Max Verstappen, born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium, is a Dutch-Belgian racing driver who competes in Formula One for Red Bull Racing. He is the son of former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen and started his racing career in karting at a young age. Verstappen quickly rose through the ranks, and by 2014, he was competing in Formula 3.
2014
In 2014, Verstappen made his debut in the world of motorsports, racing in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. He impressed in his debut season, finishing third overall with 10 podiums and three wins to his name.
2015
The following year, Verstappen made history by becoming the youngest driver to ever compete in Formula One, driving for Toro Rosso. He was just 17 years old at the time. Verstappen had a strong debut season, scoring points in his first race and going on to finish 12th overall in the championship.
2016
In 2016, Verstappen moved to Red Bull Racing, joining the team midway through the season. He made an immediate impact, winning his first race for the team at the Spanish Grand Prix. At the age of 18, he became the youngest driver ever to win a Formula One race. Verstappen finished the season in fifth place, with one win and seven podium finishes to his name.
2017
In 2017, Verstappen continued to impress, scoring two wins and four podium finishes. He finished the season in sixth place overall.
2018
The 2018 season was a difficult one for Verstappen. He suffered a number of retirements and technical issues, but still managed to finish the season in fourth place overall, with two wins and four podium finishes.
2019
In 2019, Verstappen continued to show his skill behind the wheel, scoring three wins and nine podium finishes. He finished the season in third place overall, behind only Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
2020
The 2020 season was a shortened one due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Verstappen still managed to score two wins and nine podium finishes. He finished the season in third place overall, once again behind Hamilton and Bottas.
2021
In 2021, Verstappen had his best season yet, with 10 wins and 17 podium finishes. He battled Hamilton for the championship throughout the season, but ultimately came up just short, finishing in second place overall.
2022
In 2022, Verstappen continued to perform at a high level, with seven wins and 12 podium finishes. However, he once again finished in second place overall, this time behind Charles Leclerc.
Team Changes and Milestones
Verstappen has been a part of the Red Bull Racing team since 2016 and has had tremendous success with the team. He made his debut with Toro Rosso in 2015 and raced for the team for one season before moving to Red Bull Racing.
